The Snuuzu Story

At the time, we had been creative with sleeping in the car, but none of the existing solutions satisfied our desire for a comfortable sleeping experience.

Air mattresses were often made from subpar materials, far from the hotel-like comfort we wanted. Other solutions were bulky and took up the entire storage space. Additionally, none of the solutions addressed the inconsistencies of the floor, resulting in back pain.

The absence of a solution led to some back pain, but mostly to a journey of engineering a completely new product.

Now, after three years, countless late nights, and endless prototypes and redesigns, the result is something we are truly excited about.

Even with over 35 years of product engineering experience, we have taken our time to optimize this gadget into something we feel is ready for everyone to go on an adventure with.

From the beginning, we did not want to build another air mattress. We wanted to create something that felt as close to a real bed as possible, while still being practical enough to take on every trip.

Every layer in a Snuuzu has a reason. The soft top layer gives comfort the moment you lie down. The foam spreads pressure. The mesh helps the mattress breathe. And the adjustable air layer helps smooth out the uneven surface of the car.

But it also had to work in real life. Easy to set up after a long drive. Easy to pack away in the morning. Durable, washable and compact enough to use often.

The goal was never to create the cheapest solution. It was to create the one we would actually want to use ourselves.

At first, Snuuzu was simply the mattress we wanted for our own trips. Something that made sleeping in the car feel less like a compromise, and more like part of the adventure.

But once other Tesla owners started using it, we noticed the same reaction again and again. People understood the problem immediately, because they had felt it too. The bad nights. The bulky setups. The feeling that car camping was almost perfect, but not quite comfortable enough.

That has been one of the best parts of building Snuuzu. Seeing people use it on real trips, in real places, and hearing that it helped them skip hotels, wake up in nature, and actually sleep well along the way.

What started as our own frustration has slowly become something shared by a community of people who want the same thing worldwide.

Snuuzu started with one simple goal: to make sleeping in a Tesla genuinely comfortable. But for us, the mattress is only the start of what a great Tesla camping setup can become.

We want to keep improving the quality, the materials and all the small details that make the difference after a full night on the road. The way it feels, the way it packs, the way it lasts, and the way it fits into real trips.

Over time, we want to build out the full camping package around Snuuzu. Thoughtful products that make Tesla road trips easier, more comfortable and more enjoyable, without turning the car into something complicated.

And most of all, we want to keep growing this community of people who see their Tesla as more than a car. A way to travel freely, sleep like your bed at home, and wake somewhere totally different.
